Supreme Steel Inc, located in Portland, Oregon, is currently looking for a commerce-oriented, efficiency driven team player to lead our facility in the position of General Manager.

Reporting to the President, this position is responsible for providing vision and leadership for all financial and operating matters of the entity including production, safety, quality, personnel management, estimating & business development, and project & change management. Possessing a strong background of operational and commercial knowledge, the General Manager will be responsible for ensuring that contractual terms and obligations with clients are properly established, managed, and delivered in order to generate profit.

The General Manager is accountable for consistently meeting the revenue, margin, and cashflow targets for the facility. This position is crucial in partnering with the sales team to leverage market connections in capturing income generating opportunities, while managing the success of facility budgeting and cost management.

Using an extensive range of communication styles, the General Manager will mitigate operational and business challenges, seek timely claims resolution, build transparent relationships with clients, contribute innovative ideas, and implement procedures that improve productivity, culture, quality, and efficiency. Supreme is looking for a leader who will motivate and drive a positive culture and work environment, provide exemplary support, service, and leadership to internal and external customers, while reporting on and managing targets and service efficiencies to ensure successful business operations.

Having significant experience in the steel industry and proven experience in a Management role, the successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

-Technical or business degree accompanied with 15 years of industry experience

-Demonstrated knowledge of effective and influential leadership styles and practices, accompanied by exceptional coaching and personnel development skills

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Organization and planning skills

-Problem analysis and resolution

-Negotiation skills

-Conflict resolution skills

-Supported track record of results

-Experience or certification in Lean Manufacturing preferred
