July 20, 2010: Supreme Group Participates in Steel Day on September 24
This year, Supreme Steel will be participating in Steel Day on September 24th. The day will be an interactive networking event for members of the design, construction and structural steel industry. Bender-rollers and others across the nation will open their facilities, job sites, and offices. Architects, engineers, contractors, developers, students, educators and the general public are invited to see how we contribute to building Canada.
Rare-Earth Metal Recycling Needed to Power Green Technology
Recycling rates need to increase significantly to ensure the future supply of rare-earth and specialty metals, which are needed to power many green technology products, according to a United Nations Environment Program report. A UN committee has determined that the recycling rates for specialty metals are only about 1 percent, while the report estimates that recycling all metals is two to 10 times more energy-efficient than smelting metals from ores.
