The Supreme Group’s 8th Annual Salvation Army Golf Classic was held at The Highlands Golf Course on June 1st, 2010. 136 golfers came out to support the event to raise funds for The Salvation Army’s Edmonton Crossroads Community Church (E3C) on 96 Street & 116 Avenue.
Due to the age of E3C’s building, it has become necessary to rebuild the facility to ensure that much needed services including drop in centre with food assistance, referral services, warming centre and community nursing can continue.
Thanks to the support and title sponsorship of the Supreme Group and its owners, John and Sally Leder, this year’s tournament has raised a record-breaking $507,911 towards this rebuild. The amount raised has far exceeded expectations and will help The Salvation Army tackle this building project without the need for a mortgage.

In 2010, the Edmonton-area Supreme Group companies participated in Corporate Challenge for the second year in a row. 100 employees from Supreme Steel Edmonton, Supreme Steel Acheson, Supreme Steel Bridge Division, Midwest and Quality Fabricating signed up for 23 events that commenced on May 28th, and ran through June 12th.
When the tabulations were all said and done, Supreme Group came away with an impressive 7th overall finish in sporting events for our division (out of 32 teams total). We won two bronze medals: one in Basketball and the other in Scavenger Hunt. We made finals in quite a few events, and fell just short of medal placement. Congratulations to everyone involved whether you were a Team Captain, participant, photographer or volunteer. It’s all about the TEAM effort put forth.
In the spirit event, we finished in 10th place out of 32 teams. This year 4 other teams nominated Team Supreme for their spirit and we were awarded points for the nominations!
Supreme Group is very proud of being back-to-back winners of the most new blood donors in the Blood Donor Challenge! Last year, we had 23 new donors. This year, we added 12 more, bringing our total number of donors to 51. This was good enough for third place. Way to go Team Supreme!
Supreme Group has had the pleasure of sponsoring Caritas Hospital Foundation's “Everyone’s a Winner” Golf Tournament for the past two years. For the third year in a row, We will return as an Albatross sponsor for the 2010 tournament on August 9th.
Since its inception in 1994, the Caritas Hospitals Foundation, “Everyone’s A Winner” Golf Tournament has successfully raised over one million dollars in support of the world-class Palliative Care program at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital. This tournament is well-known as one of the top charity tournaments in the City of Edmonton, and Supreme Group is proud to sponsor it.
