Occupational and Environmental Health Nurse

SUPREME GROUP LP is the largest privately owned structural steel fabricator and erector in Canada, with facilities in Delta, Edmonton, Portland, Saskatoon, Welland and Winnipeg.
 
Supreme Steel LP is currently looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Occupational and Environmental Health Nurse at our Acheson Campus. This individual will provide Occupational Health Nursing services to the standards of practice recommended by the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta. The OEH Nurse will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
 
· Provide expert technical advice on job-related health issues and provide health information/education for individuals or groups
· Participate in incident response, providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical emergency response for site, shop and office employees
· Ensure the medical directives and nursing protocols are available and current
· Provide initial assessment and follow-up for work and non-work related injury or disability through case management and referrals to promote safe and early return to work
· Undertake health promotion initiatives consistent with Health Services strategic objectives
· Maintain accurate health records according to Supreme Steel Group Health Confidentiality and Health Records Management Guidelines
 
Preferred candidates will possess the following attributes:
 
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
· Dedication to safe work and environmental responsibility
· Advanced assessment skills
· High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility and adaptability
· Experience working in the steel construction industry or a job-site environment an asset
 
Qualifying candidates will have the following requirements:
 
· Registration with the College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta
· Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
· Advanced First Aid Certification (or to be obtained within 2 months of hire)
· Pulmonary Function Certification (current or within 6 months of hire)
· Audiometric Certification (current or within 6 months of hire)
· Occupational Health Nursing Certificate with Certification would be an asset
